MEET THE DOCTOR

Serving Clients Since 2012

Dr. Kari was born and raised in Madison and always knew she wanted a career working with and helping people achieve their greatness. She finished her Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, and then, after working in a clinic and building a solid foundation in coaching swimming, she graduated with her DPT from the UW in 2012.

She started her career as a physical therapist in a health system outside town, but soon became disenchanted with the limitations of a health care system. She learned a ton, and moved her career to a private practice in the Madison area. Here, she became immersed in what it was for a patient to have a choice in who their providers are. Being able to work more in the community lit a fire in her to step out on her own and build a practice where the patient can not only choose their provider, but where she would be able to work for the patient, rather than be driven by insurance company requirements. Do you need manual therapy, dry needling and functional based corrective exercise movements? She can do that. Do you need one-on-one time and assistance with movement patterns to get back to the pool or playing field? She's here for you.

Dr. Kari achieved a Specialist Certification in Orthopedics (OCS) in 2018 and has also been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). She has found her niche in working with athletes of all varieties, though swimming is her passion. She loves breaking down movement patterns to find ways to improve strength, power and efficiency, if not to decrease pain or prevent injury.

When Dr. Kari is not at work, you can find her on a pool deck for the better part of the year; coaching at Ridgewood in the summer and/or helping with both the Mens’ and Women’s Swim Teams at Memorial High School. Being a PT makes Dr. Kari a better coach, and being a coach makes her a better PT. In her very limited spare time, she loves being with my family and friends, traveling, hiking and baking and decorating all kinds of delicious things. She is an avid sports fan, and had the very cool opportunity to volunteer at the USOPC Training Center in Colorado Springs a few years ago. Dr. Kari loves dogs of all shapes and sizes and enjoys sunny afternoon walks around the neighborhood and dog park with her two rescues.
